Just a misjudge

 She yawned uncontrollably before picking up her handbag from the desk and checking the time it was already past 9 pm, Sofia taps her forehead with her palm in disbelief, she has overworked and had forgotten it was already too late to get home and might have missed the last bus, she walked nervously out of the company building hoping to catch up with the last bus. She stood there hopelessly for 20 minutes but the bus didn't show up, she assumed it already passed by while she was working her ass off. "How do I get home, I don't have enough money to get a cab", she complained walking childishly swinging her hand from side to side on the road. After walking for 5 minutes, a car horned at her and came to an abrupt stop in front of her. It didn't take her a minute to realize it was her arrogant boss who almost crush her life with his flashy car. She hissed silently as he winds his car glass down. "Mind to get in", he asked her arrogantly, "do I have a choice", she murmured to herself getting into the car, she faked a smile and thanked him...

Mr. James who cares less about what anyone thought of him or what might be running through her mind asked for her location as he drove speedily. Sofia did not engage in any conversation with her boss while in the car, she fixed her gaze on the road till she arrived at her destination.

The next morning Sofia gets up tiredly in her little apartment, she rushed to the kitchen to prepare a sandwich, Sofia didn't eat her sandwich but rather put it in her bag, which is a regular routine for her. She walked out of her apartment hoping to get a bus to work but to her biggest surprise she met her boss in front of her house, 'good morning, Sir', she greeted politely, 'morning', he replied, 'What are you doing in my house Sir?', she asked nervously. 'Get into the car', he said to her with command without giving an answer to her question. Sofia felt so comfortable in the car that she didn't utter a word to her boss, she didn't like the idea of her boss picking her up from her house, neither did she want to get any close to him, he is so full of himself, arrogant and proud, he treats his staffs with disregard not putting their feelings into consideration...

After thirty minute's drive they finally got to the company, Sofia came down from the car in haste praying no one sees her but luck wasn't on her side as few of her co-workers saw her coming down from their boss's car, Sofia felt so embarrassed, she thought of what her colleague would think of her, she has been the main person who always criticized the boss and condemns anyone she sees with him.  On getting to her department everyone gave her a cold look, guilty of what she has done she uttered sharply, 'Guys I can explain', but no one gave her a listening ear but rather continue with their work, Sofia, on the other hand, didn't push herself any further to explain to them. It was lunch time, Sofia was still busy working while every other person has gone for lunch, she brought her sandwich out about to eat it when her boss suddenly appear in front of her, in shock the sandwich on her hand fell on the ground, she stood up from her seat frightened, wondering what her boss is doing in her office, Mr. James who saw the frighten look on Sofia face ask her out for lunch, Sofia was so surprised at his action, she is the last person anyone would want to ask out for lunch in the company, she nod her head and followed him like a cat following his owner, while having lunch everyone keeps staring at them especially her coworkers, she could see them whispering to each other, she conclude they already assumed she is going out with the boss, Sofia was in oblivion as her attend was on the people staring at her not on the food, the boss who noticed her behaviour snapped his finger in front of her face to bring her to consciousness, he told to be bold and not be scared of him, she was so surprised as how gently he speaks, she has never hear him speaks that way before, he treated her nicely with respect. Ever since that day when everyone sees her with the boss, they started treating her with respect even her senior colleagues who always order her around stopped, she was given the best treatment ever. Sofia started receiving a gift from her boss and she no longer uses the public bus as the boss's assistant always picks her up from work and drops her off at home, although Mr. James has not yet confessed his feelings to her Sofia already knows his intention, she started imagining her life as the wife of a multi-millionaire, she was so excited and considered herself lucky.

After a month of  treating Sofia nicely, Mr. James invited Sofia to his family  house, Sofia was so delighted, on the way to his family house, Sofia couldn't stop smiling to herself, Sofia was welcomed warmly by James's parents, James mother held Sofia held firmly and couldn't stop herself from crying, Sofia was so confused, she looked at James for clarification, James sit her down and told her that she is his lost sister he has been looking for twelve years, he narrated how she got missing twelve years ago when the four of them went for camping and how they have been looking for her since then, he further continued by telling her how he did a private investigation on her when he saw the same scar his sister has on her wrist the day she brought some document to his office, and how he has visited the people who brought her up and how they told him, they found her lost in the wood twelve years ago and decided to take her into their home and treat her like their daughter since they had no child of their own. Immediately Sofia heard that she started crying, she knew her parents were not her biological parents and what they told her when they found her was that her parents has been eaten by a wild animal, she was only eight years old and had no memory of what her family looks like, even though she did the memories must have fade off with time. She lifts her head up and asked to conduct a DNA test to confirm that what they are saying to her is true, which they agreed on. After weeks of waiting for the test, the test finally came out positive, Sofia was so happy to unite with her parents and her older brother James, she moved out of the little apartment she was staying in and moved in with her parents, she stops working in her brother's company as her parents gave her enough fund to start up her dream company, Sofia considered herself bless for coming out from a rich family because she knows how hardship has messed with her over the years, she appreciated with she has and always go out of her way to help those in help, she thanked her poster parents for taking care of her like their own daughter. Sofia put all her past behind her and embraced a better future.
