An old man sat in his armchair, gazing sadly at the faded and worn family photographs. The man was rather tall, almost skinny and he had sharp features that indicated the presence of pain in his life. Long wrinkles engraved in his face gave the man a wild look. His dark eyes were set deep into their sockets. The old man had a long white beard and whitened hair, signs of age.
The old man's voice sounded weary as he said: "I have lived long enough to see my children brought up well by their mothers; they are now grown up and have families of their own."
He looked much older than he used to be, maybe because of what he’d been through during his life. Why did it feel like a punishment? He was innocent! Innocent from any wrongdoing but life made him pay for a mistake he’d never committed. Life can be unfair sometimes if you are not lucky enough. It doesn’t matter how many sacrifices you make or what kind of efforts you put together to achieve your goals, you may still end up with nothing to show for it.
The man was innocent and punished by the world for something he didn't do! And that is most of our reality we tend to work so hard but yet experience the worst of life, that is the dilemma the old man is in.
So here is some food for thought.
I don’t know why we feel so special, but I guess it’s because we are. We were born with a unique code of DNA that makes us who we are, and no one can change it. The world isn't fair but sometimes life gives everyone a second chance at redemption or something like that, who knows? I hope you all learned something today because knowledge is power!
